Google Ads and Meta

Conversion tracking

The tag on your website that tells the ad platform a click turned into something.

Conversion tracking is the small piece of code — the Google tag or the Meta pixel — placed on your website so the platform can see that a click became a lead or a sale. Without it every number in the account is a cost with no result beside it: the platform optimises for clicks because clicks are all it can see, and it will happily buy the cheapest ones. Most accounts that "do not work" are not broken at the campaign; they are broken at the tag, which is missing, on the wrong page, or firing on every visit. A page scan can prove the tag is present; it cannot prove the count is right, which is why a found tag is a start, not a verdict.
