What the check found

Example
  • Worth fixingWhen someone searches “birthday cake delivery in Austin” you don’t show up on the first page.
  • Worth fixingAI assistants are allowed to read your home page, but nothing on it tells them plainly what you are.
  • GoodOn phones, 3 in 4 real visits show your page within 2.1 seconds, and the phone number can be tapped. Good.

What it checks

Six readings, each one a thing a visitor or a search engine meets.

  1. 01

Where you show up for your buyers’ searches

It reads your pages, works out what a customer would type to find you, and checks whether you’re on the first page of search for each. When you’re on it, it says where; when you aren’t, it says so. When it cannot tell what a customer would type, or cannot make the search, it says that instead of guessing.

  2. 02

Whether AI assistants may read your site

It reads your robots.txt the way the standard says it must be read, to see whether the crawlers AI companies use may fetch your home page. It never asks an assistant anything, so it cannot tell you what one says about you.

  3. 03

Whether your site says what the business is

It looks for structured data on your home page that names the kind of business you are and where, not only the kind of page. That hidden label is how search engines are told what a site is.

  4. 04

How fast it shows on a phone

From Chrome’s own measurements of real visits on phones, when Google has them for your site, and from Admiral’s own visit to your page when it does not. It also checks whether your phone number can be tapped.

  5. 05

    Where your main button sits

Whether the button that asks for the sale or the booking is on the first screen a visitor sees, measured on a picture of your home page, and what sits around it.

  6. 06

Whether anything counts what your ads bring in

Whether a Google tag or a Meta pixel is on the site, so an enquiry or a sale that came from an ad can be counted at all.

Where it works

Any public website, with one reading that depends on the country.

Where the searches are asked from

Every reading works on any public website. The search one is asked on Google from your own country when what it reads on your site places you in the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore or the United Arab Emirates. Otherwise, or when that search cannot be made, it asks another search engine instead, and what it finds may be what somebody elsewhere would see.

Where you don’t show up yet

Google says some changes to a site take effect in its results within a few hours, and others could take several months. Ads can show your business for the same searches while your site catches up, and that is Admiral’s work. A marketing agency in your palm: Admiral reads your business, plans and builds your Google and Meta ads, and asks you before anything spends.
