Google Ads and Meta

Disapproved ad

An ad Google or Meta has rejected for a policy reason. It is not showing.

A disapproved ad is one the platform has reviewed and refused to run, citing a policy: anything from a trademark to a claim it considers misleading to a landing page that failed its crawl. Both Google and Meta send an email and mark the ad in the interface, and both are easy to miss when an account has dozens of ads. The cost is silent: the campaign keeps its budget and keeps trying to serve, and the ad group with the disapproved ad simply delivers less or nothing. On Google many disapprovals can be appealed in one click; on Meta the review is requested from the ad's own row. Either way the first step is to know it happened, which is what the check is for.
