Placement
A specific site or app where a Display or Video ad was shown.
A placement is one website, app or YouTube channel where your Display or Video ad appeared. Google chooses them automatically from the targeting you set, and the placement report lists every one with impressions, clicks, cost and conversions. The report is where the Display leak lives: a handful of mobile games and utility apps take a large share of clicks at a high click-through rate — accidental taps on a full-screen ad — and convert at nothing. Excluding a placement removes it from the campaign; excluding the whole mobile app category is the blunt version. Reading the report by cost with zero conversions, once a month, is the check.
